Nicolas Cage Joins Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in Season 4 Reloaded

The Season 4 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch on June 25, 2026, headlined by the addition of Hollywood icon Nicolas Cage as a new, playable Operator. The collaboration was announced by developer Treyarch as part of the game's "Summer of Action" event, promising "blockbuster battles" and "absolute chaos," according to promotional materials.

The Nicolas Cage Operator will be a central reward within a new, limited-time Event Pass. While specific gameplay details for the Operator were not disclosed, his inclusion marks the first time the actor, known for roles in action films like Con Air and The Rock, has been featured in the Call of Duty franchise.

Alongside the new content drop, Activision announced a limited-time Free Trial for Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies will be available soon. The trial will include access to new content such as the Zenith map and the Kowakujō Zombies experience, allowing players to sample the update without purchasing the full game.

The Season 4 Reloaded update is described as a "mid-season content drop" aiming to "Lock Into Summer" with a significant amount of new content across all game modes, with the Nicolas Cage Operator serving as its flagship addition.

New Multiplayer Maps and Modes: Zenith and Launch Remastered

The Season 4 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, launching June 25, 2026, introduces two new Multiplayer maps and a team-based variant of a classic mode to the competitive suite.

The new map, Zenith, is a luxurious cliffside compound, described in the official details as featuring a secret passage for flanking opportunities. It will be available for 6v6 core modes.

A classic also returns, as Launch, the Russian rocket launch facility from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, has been remastered for modern gameplay. According to the developer's announcement, it will be added to both the standard map rotation and the permanent Black Ops Classic playlist, alongside other legacy maps like Fringe, Hacienda, and Gridlock.

A new mode, Team Blueprint Sharpshooter, will task players with adapting to a rotating set of Weapon Blueprints that change every 45 seconds. The mode offers bonuses for elimination streaks, including faster movement, reload speed, and double score for a five-streak kill.

For close-quarters combat, the update adds Knife Fight, a 2v2 melee-focused mode. The first duo to win six rounds claims victory, with ranged weapons restricted; players are granted equipment and the Ballistic Knife. Earning 10 Double Kills in this mode unlocks the "Combatant" Weapon Charm.

Furthermore, Squad Gun Game arrives in Warzone as a new 30-player Limited-Time Mode on Resurgence maps. Squads of three will cycle through a set of ten weapons, with the first team to progress through the entire arsenal winning the match.

Zombies Expansion: The Kowakujo Castle and Oni Threat

The Season 4 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 introduces a major new Round-Based Zombies map, Kowakujō, set within a feudal Japanese castle in the Dark Aether. According to the official content details from Activision, this new experience launches on June 25, 2026, and tasks players with freeing the last Shadowsmith and recovering the World Seed.

The Kowakujō map presents a hostile environment of lava flows that damage and slow players, and can transform zombies into fire-drenched Scorched Zombies. A new enemy type, the Oni, joins the horde. This heavily armored yōkai wields a kanabō club capable of electrifying for area-of-effect attacks or firing electric bolts at range. Players can deploy a new Ghostly Rifleman Trap to summon spectral riflemen for fire support and will have access to a new, mysterious Wonder Weapon.

Completing the map’s Main Quest rewards players with the “Purified” Takeo Operator Skin, alongside a Calling Card and XP, as detailed in the official patch notes. Additional intel collection through Audio Logs, Documents, and Artifacts yields more Calling Cards and XP. The update also introduces a Cursed mode for Kowakujō, which offers no Main Quest guidance and a limited HUD but rewards unique Pack-a-Punch Camos like “Flame Cipher” for completing its challenges.

Warzone Updates and Champion’s Quest Rewards

Warzone's Rebirth Island receives a summer makeover alongside a significant overhaul of the high-stakes Champion’s Quest and its rewards. According to the official Season 04 Reloaded details, the update arriving June 25, 2026, refreshes the battle royale experience with visual changes, new modes, and coveted endgame loot.

The seasonal refresh brings brighter summer weather to Rebirth Island, though key Points of Interest like Turbine and Outpost remain. New Limited-Time Modes include Squad Gun Game, a 30-player mode for trios where squads cycle through ten weapons, and the return of Buy Back Quads as a Weekend LTM from July 9-13, allowing eliminated players with sufficient cash to redeploy.

The pinnacle challenge, the Champion’s Quest, returns with updated qualification criteria and rewards. Players qualify by winning five consecutive Core Battle Royale matches or 30 matches in a season. Upon acquiring a Champion's Contract, squads undertake a multi-step mission to secure and deliver critical assets, including a radioactive isotope and a missile transport vehicle, while rival squads can contest objectives using a "Golden Ticket" system to extract stolen items.

Completing the arduous Champion’s Quest now grants a suite of high-tier rewards. According to the developer, these include Animated Operator Skins for Grimm (such as "Axia" and "Axia's Wrath"), multiple Animated Weapon Camos, Calling Cards, Emblems, a unique Finishing Move, and the "Gamma Stick" Flatline MK.II Melee Weapon Blueprint. Extracting "Elements" via a special Public Event can also grant a Champion's Quest Contract.

The update also introduces two new weapons to the Warzone arsenal. The Executioner’s Duet is a new Melee Weapon unlockable at Level 30, featuring no attachments but support for custom Blueprints. The AN-94 Assault Rifle, unlockable at Level 42, makes its return with a 30-round magazine and its signature hyperburst fire mechanism, offering a new tactical option for medium to long-range engagements.

Endgame Mode: Operation King Killer and New Skill Tracks

Endgame Mode: Operation King Killer and New Skill Tracks

The Season 4 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 introduces a new Endgame operation and a major new skill track designed for cooperative, high-level play.

The free-to-play Endgame mode receives its next major chapter with Act IV: Operation King Killer, according to the official patch notes. The operation tasks the JSOC faction with breaching the defenses of "The Guild" to locate and destroy a Central Command Node. The mission features ten escalating challenges that players must undertake in Zone III or higher, requiring them to collect Command Data to progress.

Completing Operation King Killer with specific Operators unlocks exclusive rewards. Finishing the operation with Samuels, Wei Lin, or Emma Kagan individually unlocks the 'End of Daze' Weapon Camo. Players who complete the challenge with all three Operators will earn the 'End of Dayz' Animated Weapon Camo.

A significant new gameplay system arrives with the Guardian Skill Track. This track is designed to transform Operators into durable frontline anchors with enhanced defensive and support capabilities. The skills include Payback (enemies take damage when they damage the player), Battle Cache (increased chance for Ammo/Armor Resupply packs), Power Tap (resupply packs also recharge Equipment), Fortified (damage reduction based on equipped armor plates), Iron Grip (reduced hip fire spread and flinch), and Rescue Pulse (proximity-based revives for allies and self).

New tactical options are added via equipment and exotic skills. The Psych Grenade is a new Minor Ability that releases "a lingering cloud of hallucinogenic gas" to disorient enemies. Two new high-tier skills provide powerful effects: the Exotic Skill Fission has a chance to trigger a large explosion on elite enemy kills, while the Nightmare Skill Sleeper Agent has a chance to turn basic enemies into temporary allies when hit.

The developers confirmed that the Endgame mode will remain free to play through the end of Season 05, allowing all players to access this cooperative content and earn its rewards.
