V's Apartment Guide: Build a Safehouse That Tracks Your Story

V's apartment is easy to dismiss as a room you visit when a quest forces you home. That misses what Cyberpunk 2077's housing does best. It is not a building game with movable furniture; it is a compact preparation loop and a physical record of your playthrough. Treat the safehouse as both, and every return from Night City has a purpose.

Make H10 Your Control Room

The Megabuilding H10 apartment is your first permanent base and the only place from which you can manage the full EZEstates setup. After completing Playing for Time, use the EZEstates site on V's computer—or visit the new apartment markers—to unlock homes in Northside, Japantown, The Glen, and Corpo Plaza. You can keep all four at once.

Every owned apartment connects to the shared stash. Store a weapon in H10 and you can collect it from another home without moving it by hand. That turns the addresses into useful rest stops instead of separate inventories to maintain.

Use the Wardrobe to create and edit cosmetic outfits without changing the statistics of your equipped gear, then switch among saved outfits from the inventory while you are away. The mirror lets you change hair, makeup, piercings, scars, facial tattoos, and cosmetic facial cyberware. H10's computer, Wardrobe, mirror, and storage make the apartment a control room for both loadout and identity.

Apartment Makeovers Are Not Freeform Decorating

The customization rules are narrower than the EZEstates advertising suggests. You cannot place or move furniture. Only the Megabuilding H10 apartment accepts EZEstates makeovers, and those makeovers swap the interior among six complete visual themes. The other rentable apartments keep their fixed layouts.

EZEstates changes H10 through complete themes rather than movable furniture.

The more personal changes are earned. Quest rewards and memorabilia appear around H10 as your story advances, reflecting the people you helped and the paths you took. The stash wall follows the same principle: placing the matching Iconic weapons into storage fills their designated display slots. Update 2.0 expanded the wall with slots for the base game's Iconic weapons.

SmartFrames add the one display you control directly. Take a screenshot in Photo Mode, choose it through the Gallery, then interact with a SmartFrame in an apartment to put it on the wall. Makeovers set H10's palette; memorabilia, weapon slots, and SmartFrames supply the details.

Turn Downtime Into a Build Routine

Three apartment actions can prepare you for the next job, and each status lasts for 60 real-time minutes:

Coffee machine interaction beside an active Energized status timer
Coffee applies Energized in apartments equipped with a machine.

  • Sleep restores health and applies Rested, which increases skill experience gain.
  • Shower applies Refreshed, which improves health regeneration.
  • Drink coffee applies Energized, which improves maximum stamina and stamina regeneration.

Before a long mission, return to the nearest home, unload excess gear into the shared stash, sleep, then shower. Add coffee when the apartment has a machine. The bonuses will not repair a weak build, but the skill-experience boost makes sleeping worthwhile whenever you are still advancing Headhunter, Netrunner, Shinobi, Solo, or Engineer.

Coffee is the exception rather than a standard amenity. The Glen and Corpo Plaza apartments provide it; H10, Northside, and Japantown do not. Check the status icons beside your health bar before leaving so you know which effects are active and how much time remains.

Pick by District and Downtime, Not Prestige

The rentable apartments share their essential tools, so choose between them by location and the activity you want during a break:

Home District Distinctive downtime features
Megabuilding H10 Little China, Watson EZEstates makeovers, memorabilia, pets, SmartFrames, and the main display space
Northside Watson Compact layout, Iconic weapon racks, and Roach Race
Japantown Westbrook Guitar, incense, record player, and Roach Race
The Glen Heywood Coffee, billiards, record player, Roach Race, and a broad city view
Corpo Plaza City Center Coffee, tea, record player, and a polished corporate interior
Kress Street Dogtown Phantom Liberty safehouse with meditation, a dance floor, and quiet scenes with Johnny

Northside is the quickest no-frills stop. Japantown is the strongest fit if you want a dense hideaway filled with small interactions. The Glen offers the most room for activities, while Corpo Plaza sells the corporate fantasy. Kress Street is earned through Phantom Liberty's story and is useful while you are working in Dogtown; it does not take over H10's makeover or memorabilia systems.

Turn H10 Into a Living Save File

After you finish a romance path, you can invite that partner to an owned apartment for a repeatable hangout. H10 also remains home to Nibbles and the iguana rather than moving those pets among your rented addresses. Those fixed relationships give the starter apartment a role the more expensive-looking homes cannot copy.

Completed romance paths unlock repeatable hangouts in V's apartments.

Use that difference deliberately. Put completed quest mementos beside a SmartFrame photo from the same story, and move a matching Iconic weapon into the stash wall when it has a display slot. The next time you return to H10, the blank frame or empty weapon slot will show you exactly which part of V's story you have not finished yet.
